HELP Employment Services
HELP’s Employment Services are designed to help individuals overcome barriers to employment, gain meaningful work experiences, and achieve social inclusion. Our services include job placement, skill-building, on-the-job training, accommodation, and ongoing support.
The goal is to help individuals with disabilities find jobs that match their interests and abilities while fostering an inclusive and supportive work environment. By offering these services, communities can support the full participation of individuals with I/DD in the workforce, helping to reduce unemployment, build self-esteem, and promote economic and social inclusion. HELP collaborates with County Developmental Disability Boards and Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities. Door-to-door transportation is available for some services.
Community Work Experience
Assess an individual’s job readiness and determines if a specific job would be an appropriate match.
Work Adjustment
Prepares individuals for employment by improving their job readiness.
Job Coaching /On-the-job Service
Provides assistance to help adjust to new work environments.
Job Search Assistance
Helps individuals with disabilities to secure jobs in the community by providing assistance with creating a resume, completing job applications, preparing for interviews, connecting with employers, and navigating the onboarding process once a job offer is received.
Career Exploration
Helps individuals in exploring specific employment options, including shadowing and observing.
Summer Youth Career Exploration
Group-based service utilized to teach students and youth appropriate work behaviors.
Pre-employment Transition Service
Provides assistance to students to help improve their transition from school to postsecondary education and/or community employment.

HELP Employment Services Summer Youth Work Experience
HELP is proud to serve our youth through our summer youth work experience program at Lakewood Park Concessions by HELP Harvest. For many, this program is their first job experience, and by working alongside typically developing transitional-aged youth in an integrated setting, they gain meaningful job skills. Referrals are received through OOD for transitional aged youth with disabilities who are interested in this program.
