HELP Chosen to Participate in the ADS Pilot Program

Adult Day Supports (ADS) Quality Pilot Program

HELP is pleased that the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD) has selected our organization to participate in the Adult Day Supports (ADS) Quality Pilot Program. As part of participation HELP received grant funds that allowed us to hire a new position, Director of Quality Improvement and Compliance. HELP welcomes Elizabeth M. Bajusz, Director of Quality Improvement and Compliance, to our team. She brings a wealth of experience in working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in many capacities. She has a Master of Education in Rehabilitation Counseling from Kent State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Ohio Northern University.

Equally important to being part of this pilot is that staff will have access to sharing ideas and best practices with other participating organizations. Ultimately, HELP’s involvement lets us continue to improve our care and provide state of the art services to the individuals who participate in our ADS Programs. HELP has two ADS Programs in Euclid; one on Shore Center Drive and one dedicated to the care of seniors located on Bliss Lane. Other locations include a new site in Warrensville Heights and one in Lakewood which we are expanding this year.

Adult Day Services is essential for people with IDD to enhance their quality of life, promote independence and provide valuable support to both individuals and their families. HELP’s supportive and enriching environment promotes social, cognitive, and emotional well-being through activities such as art, adaptive exercise, and trips into the community through our transportation program.

DODD realizes that there is a need to improve capacity to support individuals with complex needs in ADS, and thus implemented the ADS Quality Pilot Program to test whether directed investments and quality incentives can achieve the following system goals: build provider capacity to support a continued focus on quality improvement, improve access to ADS services, especially among individuals with more complex needs, and improve unique outcomes such as building skills and integrating into the community.  These outcomes align with HELP’s mission, and we are excited to share the good news of this new initiative with our community and partners.
